Jeremy Rose's Infinity + Freyja Garbett's Sowden House

Jazz/ambient / expansive hypnotic long-form improvisations. Jeremy Rose's Infinity and Freyja Garbett's Sowden House come together for a double bill at Lazybones Lounge Marrickville on August 13.

Jeremy Rose's Infinity feat. Alexander Flood: Jeremy Rose's Infinity brings together saxophone, immersive electronics and deep rhythmic interplay built around long-form improvisation, cyclic structures and evolving sonic textures. Across two critically acclaimed releases, and their performance at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival last year, the project continues to evolve as a powerful live experience. Described by DownBeat as a meditative and mesmerizing experience (4 stars) and by Jazzwise as a bold adventurous journey, Infinity sits within a new wave of artists blurring the lines between improvised music and ambient electronic forms. For this performance, Infinity features Jeremy Rose (saxophone and electronics), Zac Sandilands (keyboards), Ben Carey (modular synthesizer) and Alexander Flood (drums, Adelaide).

Freyja Garbett – Sowden House Album Launch: Freyja Garbett's Sowden House brings together jazz, cinematic scoring, psychedelic funk and video-game storytelling in a richly atmospheric project. Originally composed for an immersive VR game set inside Los Angeles' infamous Sowden House, the music evokes 1970s noir psychological tension, spectral beauty and the strange glamour of Hollywood's darker mythology. For this album launch, Garbett leads a sextet featuring Nick Garbett (trumpet), Michael Avgenicos (saxophone), Hilary Geddes (guitar), Dave Quinn (bass) and Miles Thomas (drums).
