Like most, art came into my world when I was young and words were the form it came in.
I had difficulty articulating my thoughts so I found writing as the way to express myself.
I'd always been a class clown so my parents encouraged my love for story telling and enrolled me in speech in drama where I performed in multiple productions and improve competitions.
In drama we had an assignment to write a script for a competition known as Crash Bash.
My friend and I became finalists and performed against other schools and took the win. Several years later I became another finalist but didn't take it that year.
I've always been told that I should write children's books, but self confidence can be a cruel beast, up until recently.
I've started sharing my work — children's books for friends, poetry with those close to me, excerpts with class mates, and the deepest part of my soul with my tutors.
There isn't a genre I don't like to write about. I find beauty in all things — you just need to open your eyes and allow yourself to see it.
Writing is my voice, and for too long it's been suppressed so now I'm ready to set it, and my words, free.
