Free

Three free public-facing services maintained regardless of whether the user is a paying client.

The Casting Calls Newsletter is a free weekly roundup of every independent theatre audition we can find across Sydney, Montreal, and New York. The Resource Exchange is a free directory of set, props, costumes, and rehearsal materials being passed between productions. The Free Resources Index is a maintained library of operational guides and reference material.

Casting Calls Newsletter — free

A free weekly newsletter of every independent theatre audition in Sydney, Montreal, and New York.

Intake

Two flows:

To read:

  • Email subscription via the site
  • Double opt-in
  • Three-click unsubscribe

To be listed:

  • Structured submission form
  • Free
  • Editorially reviewed before publication

Editorial standards

Submissions are returned with notes if they:

  • Lack a casting contact
  • Lack clear payment status
  • Frame unpaid work as "exposure"
  • Lack role descriptions or submission requirements

Process

  • Submission window closes Sunday midnight each week
  • Editorial curation runs Monday
  • Newsletter sends Tuesday morning

Listings go live on the site immediately on acceptance and remain archived after the audition deadline passes.

  • public-liability-101 — what to ask, where to start
  • free-listing-platforms-by-city
  • marketing-checklist-for-indie-productions

Out of scope

  • Editorial discretion is final. Listings that fail standards are returned with notes; we don't negotiate over listings that frame unpaid work as exposure or omit casting contact information
  • Productions with publicly known unresolved harm or safety issues are not listed
  • The free layer is not a free version of paid services — it is editorial infrastructure for the wider independent theatre scene
